Meet Tim

Certified Financial Family Law Mediator

I have more than 30 years of legal experience. I have passed the bar and am licensed in the states of Connecticut, New York, Virginia, and North Carolina, although my practice is now solely limited to Charlotte, NC and surrounding counties of North Carolina.

I am a solo attorney and collaborating with another attorney Amy Howard who also specializes in Family and Juvenile Law.

I practice exclusively in family law, and I understand that the outcome of your current divorce or custody dispute will have long-term implications for your life and your children. It is my philosophy to be honest and upfront with clients, even if it means occasionally telling clients facts they do not want to hear. It is best to set reasonable goals and expectations and to work hard to achieve them. I have always said the cheapest way to resolve issues pertaining to divorce or other disputes is to come to a mutually acceptable agreement. It is my philosophy that this should be done in the early stages to avoid extensive attorney fees and to save all involved from the stress that comes with litigation proceedings. Sometimes, however, the other party is not going to be reasonable, at least early on, and an agreement cannot be reached. It is important to have an attorney who is attentive to each detail and is willing and able to take the case to trial, if need be.

I am also a licensed parent coordinator and have been so since September 2008. The role of a parent coordinator is to assist parties in high conflict cases involving custody. The parent coordinator is appointed by the Judge who is assigned to the case and works directly for the Court. Being a licensed parent coordinator has given me a different perspective on how custody cases can and should be handled, and I think has been very beneficial to my practice.

It is our goal to keep you informed by returning your calls in a timely manner and listening to your concerns. We want to provide you, our client, with straightforward and easy-to-understand legal advice. Our staff in Charlotte realizes that this is not a pleasant experience for any of the parties involved, and it is especially difficult in the life of our client. We will try to help you through this process to the best of our ability. We will do all that is within our power to resolve the case with a mutual agreement or prepare for trial and aggressively advocate your position before the presiding judge.

Please call our office for an appointment. We are ready to help.
